Company Concepts

All things in the universe are interrelated. When one thing is changed, it can have a dramatic impact on something else. We know that every action we take is an interaction with people and the natural world. Our choices have repercussions that can be the catalyst for positive or negative change. With this awareness we gain an understanding of our responsibility — one that we can no longer overlook.

Safety

A Safe System of Work is a formal procedure developed through a systematic examination of a task to identify all associated hazards. It defines safe methods to ensure that hazards are eliminated or risks minimised.

Safe Systems at Outside-In include:

  • Preparation and authorisation needed at the start of each activity

  • Clear planning of work sequences

  • Checks, maintenance and replacing of equipment

  • Standardised safety briefings given before commencement of activities

  • Risk Analysis Management System

Sustainability

At Outside-In we believe that the environment is not just an awesome place to explore and learn in, but also that we have a sacred duty to protect it. It is not there for our use, but for us to engage with hand-in-hand.

  • Our uniforms use 100% recycled polyester and are bluesign® approved — manufactured in a way that is safe for the environment, the workers, and those wearing them.

  • Our souvenirs are sustainably sourced, recyclable, and use natural insect repellant.

  • We pursue UN Sustainable Development Goals: 3, 4, 5, 12, 13, 14 & 15.

  • We are committed to becoming as close to net-zero as possible.

Holistic

Our approach is holistic, understanding that everything is interconnected. We help people realize, understand, and develop these connections between themselves, others, nature, and society as a whole. By fostering this awareness of interdependence and interconnectivity, we empower individuals to make informed decisions that positively impact all facets of their lives.

Safeguarding

Children are a vulnerable segment of society — but also our future. Both of these mean they should be protected and nurtured.

We adhere to strict policies and practices to ensure the best staff are recruited, given comprehensive training, and committed to keeping children safe from harm.

After an instructor is chosen, they undergo comprehensive training covering the basic principles of each activity, instructional methods, health and safety protocols, pastoral care, and first aid techniques. Instructors are continuously observed to ensure adherence to safety guidelines and competence in leading all activities.

Everybody's physical, mental and emotional health is at the heart of our organisation.
